                HISTORY

Manchester United was founded in ( 1878 ) as Newton Heath ( L & Y R ) Football Club, manchester united has operated for over ( 140 years ). The team played in the football league for the very first time in ( 1892 ) and they were relegated after two years.

And then a new group of local businessmen took over the roles and responsibilities of the club and named it Manchester United ( 1902 ). Manchester United won their first ( 20 ) English League titles in ( 1908 ).

In ( 1910 ) they moved to Old Trafford, the club's current stadium. And then, After the second world war, Manchester United witnessed an extended strike whit the appointment of Matt Busby in ( 1945 ).

And he reshaped the club and put new hope in youngsters, and it was successful. The team won the league in ( 1955 - 56 ) and ( 1956 - 57 ). Which made the team win the football league and also earned them the nickname the " BUSBY BABES".

      MUNICH AIR DISASTER 

The team was traveling back from a European Cup against the Red Star Belgrade when their aircraft stopped in Germany to refuel. The plane's first two attempts to take off were aborted, then the third attempt, the plane crashed.

The team ( 8 ) players were dead white the club three officials. The darkest day in the united's history will forever be circled on the calendars of everyone connected whit manchester united.

1883: the first competition takes place against Blackburn Rovers.

1892: First season in the football league.

1902: the club is renamed Manchester United.

1908: First Division 1 champions.

1909: Winning their first FA Cup title.

1910: the club moves to Old Trafford.

1958: Several club members are killed in an airplane crash.

1963: Italian Carlo Sartori is signed as the first non-British player.

1980: Martin Edwards becomes the chairman of the club.

1991: Manchester United P.L.C is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

1992: First league cup title.

1994: Winning their first double ( the league and the FA Cup ).

1998: Jaap Stam becomes the first player to be transferred for a fee of over £10  million.

1999: First champions league title.

1999: Winning their first treble ( the league, the FA Cup, and the champions league ).

2007: the highest attendance is recorded at Old Trafford(  76,098 against Blackburn Rovers ).

2009: Cristiano Ronaldo is sold to Real Madrid for £80 million.
